The Best Places to Buy Pre-loved Designer Luxury Handbags in London 2025.
These are my OG’s and the shops that have been around long before shopping sustainably, circular fashion and the preloved market was envogue.
I trust bricks and mortar shops. I trust smaller businesses started by someone with an amazing eye; who grew and grew their business down to their sheer knowledge and passion for what they are doing. These all started long before AI authentication came on the scene. These places KNOW their designers.
All of the below I discovered first as a shop years ago (some decades ago), and then came to them online second. I have bought a lot of bags from all of the below over the years.
Quick note: Sadly, due to an increase in shoplifting the selection of bags physically displayed in the stores (apart from Designer Exchange & Catwalk; which is an Aladdin’s Cave) has decreased and are behind glass cabinets/security looped. Luckily, they do all sell online and have the most incredible stock.
Sellier, Knightsbridge - Shop front at Cheval Place
Sellier, Knightsbridge
Sellier, Knightsbridge (also available online - online stock is amazing, I think online is better than instore)
Address: 6 Cheval Place, Knightsbridge, London, SW7 1ES + Brompton Road, next to Boots (also now in Belgravia and Monaco)
Closest tube: Knightsbridge (piccadilly line)
Best if you are looking for: Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton Special Editions, Bottega Veneta, Goyard, Chanel Special Editions
Really good for: Lady Dior, Fendi
Get a bargain on: Balenciaga, (certain) Celine’s, Valentino
They sometimes do: Celebrity drops. Lydia Millen and Georgina Toffolo sold their bags exclusively through Sellier.
Extra Tip: They prioritise super brands, but because of this every once in a while they take a bag they clearly do not think is a super brand and sell it with the most amazing discount. It’s like excuse me an immaculate black Celine Belt Bag for £645 adds to cart immediately or a jewelled Prada Clutch £285.
Shop Vibe: A few things going on here. Sellier have acquired new locations and changes things around.
Cheval Place, Knightsbridge
I felt super intimidated because it is a beautiful, quiet luxury boutique, ran by beautiful impeccably dressed people. I felt like I had to be a model to be worthy of going in. (Those are my issues though for another time haha). But, they are friendly and helpful. You have to press a buzzer to go in, and the bags are in a glass cabinet. It’s not an Aladdin’s cave where you can go in and explore, pick things up, and try things on freely (which I love). There is very limited stock on display. At Cheval Place you have two cabinets of bags, and two rails of clothing.
But this is because they’ve been a victim of a really bad robbery and shoplifting - they have had to put these measures in place. I totally get it.
If you have seen a bag online, but can’t see it in the store - just ask - they might have it upstairs! I couldn’t see three bags I had my eye on online and they brought them all down for me to look at. They also sell exquisite clothes and accessories.
Personally, I felt quite intimidated and its very quiet. But, lovely.
Brompton Road, Knightsbridge (next to boots)
This is a tiny, tiny store - it is just bags behind two glass cabinets along each wall, The Sales Associate was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Not a massive selection but beautifully displayed and gorgeous bags.
About:
Sellier is a mother – daughter duo Dina Ibrahimova and Hanushka Toni. Hanushka Toni is absolutely stunning and has the most impeccable taste. The way she layers jewellery I just adore. I kinda want to be her. I hadn’t realised that prior to March 2020 Sellier wasn’t online. Hanushka in the pandemic completely pivoted and turned Sellier into an online business that has a shop. I read this in Harpers Bazar. She is a power house. I actually met her when I went to collect my Louis Vuitton Milk Carton Handbag and got too starstruck so did not say anything.
I trust them and I trust the clients that sell with them. I have purchased from Sellier: Louis Vuitton Milk Carton Handbag, Hermes Belt and LV Belt.
Handbag Clinic, Ground Floor, Selfridges
Handbag Clinic, Selfridges
Address: Re-selfridges Ground Floor, Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London
Closest tube: Bond Street (Jubilee or Central line or Elizabeth line)
Best if you are looking for: Mulberry, Aspinal of London, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Chloe, vintage Celine, vintage Chanel
Really good for: Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Prada
Get a bargain on: Mulberry (insane prices, you cannot find better prices that match excellent condition), Aspinal of London (amazing prices)
Shop Vibe: Ok, so, The Handbag Clinic used to be in Chelsea - that is where I discovered and fell in love with it. But, the store in Chelsea has now closed and they are based in Selfridges. From a transport perspective this actually works out quite well as it used to be a bit of a shelp down the Kings Road and it did not have a tube station super close to it. They have a lot of stock - which is fantastic.
Downside is Selfridges at the weekends (not the one) and in peak Summer time is SO busy, I personally do not love Oxford Street and would avoid at these times.
About
I think 60-70% of my bags (Fendi, Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, Givenchy) come from The Handbag Clinic (online) because not only do they sell bags but they started as a restoration and authentication service - in fact I found them first as an authentication service. The fact they authenticate bags mean they know bags! It was founded in 2013 by Charlotte and Ben Staerck. Ben was a leather and fabric furniture restorer and Charlotte had a passion for handbags and their two loves combined. Again, they authenticated bags long before AI came into play,
The customer service is also unmatched, super helpful and knowledgable. Five frickin stars
I still use their authentication service after I’ve done all my own checks for peace of mind.
Designer Exchange, Knightsbridge
Designer Exchange, Knightsbridge
Designer Exchange, Knightsbridge (also in Chelsea, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds)
Address: 191 Brompton Rd, London SW3 1NE
Closest tube: Knightsbridge (Harrods Exit) or South Kensington
Best if you are looking for: Saint Laurent, Lady Dior, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Bottega Veneta
Really good for: Prada, Burberry, Sunglasses and clothes.
Get a bargain on: Mulberry, sunglasses, belts, Valentino
Shop Vibe: This is one of the first second hand/pre-loved designer shops I ever went into. I discovered Designer Exchange when they were a lot smaller and based at 5 Egerton Terrace. I loved it - it felt full and exciting. There were a lot of bags to pick up and try on. The sales assistant was very knowledgeable. This is where I first learnt Miu Miu did not hold its value. (I learnt this because a Miu Miu had been priced so low, I thought it was a mistake - and I had just seen the same bag in Harrods at 4 x the price) It was because (at the time) the resale market had no demand for Miu Miu. This was 10 years ago (2015) - Miu Miu resale cost has definitely, definitely picked up since then! (Especially since 2022-2023). Damn it, I should have bought all the Miu Miu they had!
Designer Exchange has since moved locations and is now located in the old Armani store on the Brompton Road. The selection is AMAZING, they probably have the biggest stock selection out of all the pre-loved consignment stores. However, I loved the old shop, it felt cosy and exclusive, like only insiders knew about it. The new store is seriously impressive, bags everywhere 1000% worth the trip - but very, very shiny… if that makes sense - and a bit cold?
The staff are fantastic. 10/10 not pushy just helpful.
Tip - They have new stock landing daily. They have a number you can text your wishlist to and they will alert you if and when it comes into the store (dangerous for the wallet - but so good at the same time).

Catwalk, Marylebone
Address: 52 Blandford Street Marylebone, London W1U 7HY
Closest tube: Baker Street/ Marylebone / Marble Arch
Best if you are looking for: Vintage, Vintage, Vintage!
Really good for: Special pieces, one-offs, embroidery, beaded bags
Get a bargain on: clothes, and shoes
Shop Vibe: It’s wonderful. I feel like Carrie Bradshaw / Patricia Field when I step inside. Its stuffed full, overly full and you have to fight your way in past the designer shoes. There are rails and rails of clothes and bags hung from various parts of the shop. But, when you are shopping in there, you feel like you might uncover a hidden gem that others have overlooked. I didn’t feel out of place or intimidated. Just lovely. I could stay there all the day!
About
Opened in 1991 L’Homme Designer Exchange and Catwalk operate a mens and womens shop next door to each other.
Pandora, Knightsbridge
Address: Pandora Dress Agency, 16-22 Cheval Place, Knightsbridge, London SW7 1ES
Closest tube: Knightsbridge
Best if you are looking for: Clothing and Shoes (but I wanted to mention in the list)
Really good for: Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton Luggage
Get a bargain on: Chloe
Shop Vibe: I love the shop aesthetic. They have a lot of stock and you feel you can really go through the rails, delve into the boxes of shoes and look at all the bags you want. My only criticism would be you feel like you are constantly being watched… now this could be from a shoplifting perspective - they need to watch everyone, as they do have a lot of stock which they don’t want you to steal. But, it always makes me feel like I am being judged “You don’t belong here, you can’t afford it, why are you even asking to look at it? I don’t feel I can relax and really look at the bags - because then I feel embarrassed when I ask for them to go back on the shelf. To be honest it puts me off and I leave. (but again - my issues) But, again an Aladdins cave of treasures.

SHOPPING DAY OUT - YOUR MAP
London
If you want to have a beautiful day out shopping - this is the route you should do. [if you don’t like crowds – I’d avoid Summer and Christmas, or go early.
Once in London, take the Piccadilly line (Navy Blue line) to Knightsbridge and take the exit which brings you out at Harrods.
Go into Harrods BUT ONLY to look at the bag you want (get a look and feel for the leather, stitching and hardware - look at the price tag - (cry) - then leave)
Cross the Brompton road and head to Sellier, Knightsbridge. You’ll pass Carpo – get a coffee and you have to sample some of the most delectable food in London. The sesame seed breadsticks are so moorish, and the roasted macadamia nuts - they are out of this world. They also have a silver tray of caramelised nuts you can sample (free) whilst you wait for your coffee. Drink your coffee and then dive into the treasure trove that is Sellier. [no liquids near the bags people]
Pop next door to Pandora, Knightsbridge (it’s on the corner, as you come out of Sellier, turn right)
Then walk to the Brompton Road and go to Sellier’s second store - for more bags!
Then walk 2 minutes to Designer Exchange.
Lunch at ‘Farm Girl Cafe in South Ken (closeby) or a 15 minute walk to The Good Life Eatery, 59 Sloane Ave, London SW3 3DH (fun fact I ate my human bowl lunch next to Robert Pattinson)
or Pret. I love Pret. Salmon and Mango Salad *new recipe
Then take a long lazy walk up from Knightsbridge to Marble Arch – walk through Hyde Park and head towards Selfridges. Walk down to the ground floor and check out The Handbag Clinic
Next
Your final stop Catwalk.
Then head home :)
