Review: Is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM really one of the greats?

When it comes to iconic bags, the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM is seen as one of the great classics of all time. I’ve had mine for a few years now, and it is an absolute staple in my wardrobe. Let me tell you why.

Durable Canvas

Louis Vuitton’s Monogram canvas is no joke. My Neverfull is dated 2008, and the canvas still looks as good as ever—tough, scratch-resistant, and just overall brilliant quality. It’s a bag that you can throw life at! The leather handle will age due to oils from your hand, and look a bit grubby - especially at the point in the middle of the straps where you pick the bag up .

A Bargain Find

Here’s where I got really lucky: I bought this bag from The Handbag Clinic back in 2020 for £517. Absolute bargain, right? Sadly, Louis Vuitton has since increased their prices, and the Neverfull is still incredibly popular, so finding a deal like that now is much harder on preloved. These days, you’re looking at £850 to over £1,000 for a pre-loved one, depending on the condition.

What Does it Fit?

EVERYTHING … This bag is a game-changer for anyone on the go. It’s so spacious—it easily fits my laptop, a hairbrush, makeup bag, umbrella, notepad, and anything else I decide to throw in. Just be a bit careful as the straps are durable but not indestructible, you don’t want to overload the bag and rip the straps from the canvas under the weight. The below is the *max.

Despite all that, it remains incredibly lightweight, which is such a blessing when you’re lugging it around all day. As a work tote, it’s just unbeatable. Normally, with the exception of Goyard St Louis or a Prada Nylon - a bag this size is normally made up of a really really heavy leather and you basically are doing an arm workout all day.

A Versatile Icon

The Neverfull MM truly deserves its iconic status—it’s a timeless piece that goes with everything and fits seamlessly into a busy lifestyle. That said, if I were buying another Louis Vuitton bag, I’d go for the Artsy MM. I’m obsessed with its beautiful shoulder strap and overall vibe—it’s a bit more “me” now than the Neverfull.

Still, I have to give credit where it’s due. The Neverfull MM is a bag I’ll always appreciate. It’s stylish, functional, and has stood the test of time, both in fashion and in my own collection.

Would I recommend it? 100%. But if you’re eyeing the Artsy… I can totally see why.

What about you—are you Team Neverfull or Artsy? Let me know in the comments!
